Graduates Decide to Organize One for
Town of Norwalk and Vicinity.
A meeting of college and univer-
sity graduates of the town- was held
ing, and it. was unanimously voted to
organize a College and University Club
for the town of Norwalk and vicin-
ity. The meeting was called to order
by Principal E. H. Gumbart, and upon
the motion of Rev. Charles S. Muci‘ar-
iand. DI Gumbart was elected as
temporary chair,man and Miss Helen
Swurtz as tempor‘IIuy secIeiuIy.

tion were made I)by Principal E. H.
Lane, Rev. F.D .Tmrey and others,
ltl'lwel'. which Dr. Iliact'urlaud gave a
general outline of the purposes for
which such an oIganlzation Inught be
gotten together. He was followed by
Hon. John S. Seymour, who'also be-
lieved that such a club might be made
useful, as well an to get, together for
the purpose of social. intercourse and
better acquaintance among the various
represeIItaIives of the colleges in the
town.
Dr. MIIchIrlIInd raised the question
as to the advisability of having certain
occasions upon which the men should
get together in one section. and the
women also by themselves. He be-
lieved that both men IIIIII wonlen
should be. gotten together in one or-
ganization, but that it might be advIsI
able. to provide for oceusiouui meet-
ings iii. which the two elements of the
organization should meet by them-
selves.
Afler this matter had been discuss
ed at length it Was voted that a com.
Inittee be appointed to prepare a. con-

college and university graduates in
the town, and to call It future meeting
in order to perfect the organization
