train on the Western Division of the
New York. New Haven and Hartford
Railroad had a narrow escape, early
today, when an axle upon the locomo‘
‘Ilve tender brokp as the train was
crossing a bridge spanning the Saugts
tuck river at the height of seventy
feet. A portion or the axle dropped in-
to the river. but. the train, which was
stopped quickly, was not derailed. A
wrecking crew repaired the damage,
