school committee be empowered to
make purchases of necessary things to
conduct the school. and that the chair-
man and secretary see the town coun-

Dr. Kendall brought up the question
of the new text books for elciiieutiiry
English, and stated that although at a
former meeting a new book was se
lected and adopted. new the, Scott &
Denny publishers had come out with it
revised edition of their old books
which wasthouglit to be even better,
and Mr. Beers made a motion that
the revised edition be substituted for
the book adopted at the former meet-
ing, and the motion was curried.
Dr. Kendall then brought up the
matter of Establishing a your calendar
for the school, and Dr. Clune said the
committee should attend to that and
submit action to the board.
The time of day which the school
will open was settled 011 its 8 o'clock.
the same as at the present time. and
it was suggested that an opening day
of the school he held, but no time was
set for it.
Dr, Kendall said there were many
things which had to be moved into
the new building. and it was decided
that it be left pending the declsloa of
the town counsel.
Mr. Keith said that so many little
things were coming up that they could
not tell about he suggested that the.
meeting adjourn until next Tuesday
evening,- and in the me ntime the
opinion of the town houses in regard
to the. high school committee be ob-
tained. A motion was made and car-
ried to this eifect.
