Youthful Groom Tired Of Child Bride
of Less Than a Year.
BRIDGEPORT, August 25. —-A boy
and girl elopement. in which 16 year
old Albert E. Bailey was the groom,
and Sophia L. Wolfe. the bride. will
reach its final chapter in the civil an;
perior court. This morning the boy,
through his mother. Sarah J. Bailey.
filed an action to have the marriage
annulled.
The couple ran away to Port Ches-
ter. and Were married September 9.
1907.
was but 16 years of age when he mar
rled the Wolfe girl, and as the age of
consent. in New York state is 18 years
the plaintiff declares the ceremony
was illegal.
A second count has been brought. in
case the first is disallowed. It is
charged that the young wife is subject
to epileptic fits, and on that account
is unable to maintain the marital re-
lations. The plaintiff asks the court
to grant a decree declaring the mar-
riage null and void.

youth of the couple. The bride was
about the same age. as the groom.

The markets and grocery stores are
supplied with a good variety of home
grown vegetables, and the season has
proved a fairly good one in spite of flu-
