James Duane Prelps, of Syracuse. shot
himself in his room in the Wurz Hotel.
on North Genesee street, this. city,
some time during last .night. Mr.
Phelps went to the hotel yesterday
morning and secured a room in the
third story. He was not seen again
during the day or evening, and it is
supposed that he killed himself about
two o’clock this morning..Ho left a
riots that was written on the paper

shooting himself that he did not wish
to live any longer.
Rev Mr Phelps was treasqrer of the
Syracuse University. and he had been
connected in the past with the North-
