Point. It will be the most substantial

that the pier is on Mr. Evans' groan
entirely, and that it reaches only to
the channel. A machine for mixing
the concrete is used in the work, and
all the loose stones on the place have

Evans proposes to use the same ma-
terlal in the construction of a hand-
some residence on the property. He
has made a‘ wonderful change in the
appearance of the place, which is one
of the most desirable along the rim.
Carl A Anderson has made applica-
tion to the state shell fish commis-
sion to take up 40 acres of oyster
ground off this harbor. The plot is
described in the notice which has been
posted in the town hall here for sev-
eral weeks, as bounded on the north
by the public domain; east by lot
1063; south by lot 1004 and west by
lot 1061. This application is believed
in town to be a well laid plan by Nor-
wnlk parties to get possession of all
the natural oyster beds possible. The
ground in question has always been
regarded as natural ground, and there
will be strong opposition by other oy-
steImen and natural growthcrs to the
granting of any titles to natural
grounds. Minot Smith, of South Ner-
walk. recently recorded deeds to 100
acres in the town of Fulrtleld and
there will be trouble when he attempts
to hold it.
