specter Daniel McFadden made the
discovery Monday that the clogging of
a number of sewer wells in various
sections of the city, which has given
the street cleaning department consid-
trabie trouble, was due toconiilct with
water and gas pipes and electric light
poles.
' The discovery was made at the cor-

the sewer well was cleaned cut several
' times in a week and continued to over
flow, that the electric light pole has
been set directly through the sewer
pipe, which is only eight inches in
diameter.
- At the corner of Broad and Gregory
street: a water pipe was cut through
the seVier pipe and another instance of
the same condition has been found at
‘ the corner of Grand and Main streets.
