The Seventh Company, divided lnto
six detachments. is showing a great
improvement, and learning to take hold
very quickly the different tasks- they
haw; to perform in operating two live
inch guns. Of these six detachments,
two of them dlvlded‘inio reliefs, op-
erate No. l gun. two also tor No. 2 gun.
Each gun crew also has 11 magazine
detachment, their duty is to have pow-
der and projectile ready for gun crew
to handle, so every one is kept quite
busy while at gun drill, which is
irom 8 to 10 a. at, and 2 to t D. in.
After each drill the boys the plenty
of time for sports of all kinds, base-
ball, swimming and bowling, which the
regulars through their genemslty have
thrown open to the Coast Artillery
men for their exclusive use while they
are in camp free of charge, which the
boys are using to good advantage.

Martin Finn, a format, was instantly
killed by his wife, Elisabeth, as he
lay asleep at his home in Salisbury.
N, Y.‘, early today. Mrs. Finn walked .
to the home of her mother, 11' mile dis-
tant. where she drank Paris green and
chloroform. She will probably tile.
Mrs. Finn used an axe to kill her
husband, striking him a terrible blow
on the head as he lay in bed. When
she reached her mother's home she
told not mother what she had done.
and announced her intention of commit-
ting suicide. Mrs. Finn is 42 years
