Dynamite Exploded Under Allotments

Amboy was made early today when a
charge of dynamite was exploded neat
,one of the bridge abutmenta. The
1 structure was damaged to the extent
of about 82 000 but the bridge did notl
fall, although it was left in I condi-
tlon regarded as unsafe for the pa!-
snge of trains. The bridge was only
recently completed, and trans were
run across it yesterday for the first
time. About midnight last night the
watchman who was guarding the struc
ture saw two men prowling about It,
and kept them under surveillance for
some time without discovering any
evidenctl of mischief. About an hour
after they were last. seen I quantity of
dynamite was exploded about the base
of one of the nbutments. The force of
the explosion was Iuflicient to awaken
the residents several miles distant.
