Boner outbreak of 1900. The monu-
ments have daily been transferred
to the Ameri n Legation by Colonel
Webb C. Hayes, president of the Chi-
nese Battlefield Commission. A new
enth tablet will be placed on the man
ument erected in memory of Colonel
Emerson H. Liscum, who commanded
the Ninth Regiment of Infantry and
who lost his life during the attack of
the allied forces at Tien Tsln in July.

The tablets were unveiled by Colonel
Hayes.

fessors from other universities sat with
the faculty and undergraduate body of
Yale in Batteil Chapel yesterday after
noon, when a memorial service to the
late Prof. Thomas Day Seymour was
held. The academic faculty wore
academic robes and marched from
Alumni Hall followed by the guests
and sturents. Prof. Tracy Peck lire-
slded. and Profi John Williams White,
of Harvard, gave the memorial ad-
dress. ltecitations in the academic do
partments were suspended during the
afternoon.
HARTFORD WATCHMAN SUICIDES.
HARTFORD, Feb. l:l.--.lohn F. I’m.-
erson. a night watchmen employed by
the Morrow Machine Company. com-
mitted suicide in the factory during
the night. He was ibund asphyxiated
in a closet this morning by the engin-
eer,.and the surroundings indicated
that Peterson deliberately ended his
life. He closed the transom in the
Cat apartment. made a bed out of two
chairs, turned on the gas and then
lay down and awaited death. He is
survived by a wife and three grown-
up chlldren. Peterson had been un-
der medical treatment for a mental
ailment.

torneys into Association.

attorneys he refers to the old associa-
tion organized in 1815 and says:
”A great deal was accomplished by
