District Attorney Jerome offered to lot

This arrangement would do away with
the necessity of taking Hummci's tes-
timony on Blackwell' s island and
would also hasten the conclusion of the
case. No agreement had been an.

The state began by calling several
eye-witnesses to the tragedy who de-
clared Thaw's conduct impressed them
as rational. '

Parson. engineer of Madisou Square

of detectives of Pittsburg. to the stand,
O'Mcara has been a prominent figure
in the Thaw defense work. Mr, .IPl‘v
ome asked him if he had bccn connect-
ed with the Pittsburg dctective force
. and upon receiving an amt'matiw rc-
ply said:
“That's all."
Mr. Jerome added: "With the ox-
ceplion of the testimony oi Mr. Hum-
tuel. this is all the evidence the state
will have to offer."
