Senator Arthur Brown, of Utah, the
court room was full of witnesses for
the defense. Several of them had
come all the way from her former
home in Salt Lake City.
James Hay, a reporter, who Inter-
vlcwcd Mrs. Bradley at the station
on the night of the tragedy. was the
first witness of the day. The detenti-
ant. he said, appeared pale, haggard
and agitated. She wrung her hands.
remarking that sho felt she "was far
away from everything." ,
She denied that she came to this
city to kill Brown. Sho declared she
was a disgraced woman.
"Did you form any opinion of her
mental condition?" asked Judge Pow-
ers. for the defence.
