County" Archdeaconry oi the Protestant
Episcopal Church held in Danbury.
Monday. Rev. A. E. Bet-mun, of Fair-
field, was elected archdencon to suc-
ceed Rev. Louis N. Booth, 01 Bridge-
port deceased.
The urchdcnconry assembled in St.
James Church at 11 o‘clock with
thirty dive members. clergy and lay-
men, present. Resolutions euloglzlng
the late Archdeacon Booth were adopt-
ed as were also similar resolutions re-
spec-ling the. late Colonel 1.1. she Smith,
of Smith Norwalk, treacurre of the
nrchdcnconry.
The election of 1111 archlleacon requir-
ed thre ballots. The Rev George W.
Davenport, of Bridgeport received sev-
en votes upon each bull.ot Others who
were voted for open the 11.111 bulloh
were Rev. J. H. George of NewtOwn;
Rev. E L Wells, 01’ Wr-stpo1't,1md
Rev M. G. Thompson of Greenwich.
Rev. Mr. Beeman received nineteen
votes upon the last ballot and his
election was immediately made unan-
imous. The new urchdcucun is rcc-
tor of St. Pauls Church. Fairlie-id. He
has 1 been secretary of the arch-
deaconry. ,
At the conclusion of the session the
members of the 11rchdcncom'y retired
to the chapel where lunch was served
by the Woman“ s Chapter and the Rec-
lurs' Aid Society. Monday nits-moon

fleid County (‘lorlcnh was' hold Monday
afternoon with Rev (loorgo W. Dn-

gunizatton is 11 society composed of
the clergyman of the Eplucupnl church-
es of Falrfleld county.
Twenty-eight members were pros-
out. The meeting was bold in the rec--
tory and followed a lunch norvod at
noon by the iodine of tho church.
The. mootlng- listened to 11 paper on
tho subject “The linptlsm or the Holy
Ghost," by the Rev. L. R. Shuiflcld, of
Long Hill. Following the vending of
the paper there was a (lb-11 usslon of

hymen took part. The meeting 11d-
jumped at 3: 30.
