According to Mr. Welln’ nccount. the
body was found In an improvised
grave and its locutiou was pointed out
by Steve Adams who is now in Jail in

ehnrge of murder, when he was here
in June, 1906. in the custody of Wells.
After Adams made the alleged con-
tesnion which he afterwards repudiah .
ed, and in which he is supposed to
nave acknowledged being the assassin
of Arthur Collins, formerly general
manager of the. Smuggler-Union Mine,
\nd to have stated that he knew where
he bodies of W. J. Barney and Wes-
'oy Smith, a shift boss of the Liberty
Bell Mice, were buried. he was
brought down here by General Wells
