sons to incorporate under the general
law, but stipulating that public neces-
sity and convenience must be provon

speech for opposition to what he cal-
led the "pernicious law" on the status
books. and cited instances to prove
that the Southern New England Com-

vate telephone company in Orange and
the attempt of the Southern New Eng-
land Telephone Company to stop the
five or six farmers from operating

that although they were aware they
were technically violating the law they

with the final result that the South-

abandon their system and take up the
corporation at. a rate of $3 a year. Mr.
