strangers prowling among some of the

gasp that he had been shot by burg~

his comrades run to the telephone to
summon a physician. but before the

The. police officers of Surlcsvlllc ill

at once notified of the crime, and In
a short time the policc of Providence
and surrounding cities and towns were
united to look out for two suspicious
looking men.
Toduy was the second time within
a week that the dye works have been
entered by burglars.
Slater won 50 years old and leaves
it widow and two daughters.
