Frank Broadhum Sentenced to Bridge-

Frank Broadhurst. who has previous-
. iy been an inmate of the institution at
. Mlddletovtn on account of his peculiar
ways, was arrested last night upon the
. complainl'of his wife. who testified
. that she is afraid of her life and that
she will never live with him again.
Broadhurst has been drinking more
* than was good for him for some days
past. and when he drinks his mind he
comes affected. When he went home
‘last Friday be seized his wife and
tried to choke her, she says, and the
next day he tried to assault her in the
street, but was prevented from doing
so by a passerby.
She said that her sister and the
children had moved to East Norwalk
to be safe from him and that within
the past few days he had taken an axe
and chopped up a great deal of the
furniture in the house. '
Judge Taylor heard the evidence
this morning and sent Brondhurst to
Jail for ten days to sober up.

one of the most widely known pool
room operators in this city: Albert H.
Fallt, his confidential agent, and two
employees visited the district attor-
ney's office today. Folk and the two
employees went to the district attor-
ncv's office in response to subpoenas,
but it is said that Alien went there
voluntarily. All four were represent-
ed by counsel. They were immediate-
ly ushered into the office. of Assistant
District Attorney Murphy, who has
had charge of the gambling investiga-
tion now in progress.
This procedure was the result of the
search of “The" Allen's house in

He was always found at his post and

watchfulness.
He is survived by his wife,

Missouri, Gertrude, Nellie and Annie
of this place, also two sons, Robert
and Thomas.
