send the yachts out before the north-
west breeze for a distance of six miles

was somewhat hazy off shore. but
there was no indications of a fog.
At 11 o'clock the wind began to haul
into the westward and became much
lighter and the committee replaced
the course signal with one postponing
the race temporarily. Off shore. the

ports for a quick race were not good.

windward course. At 11:55 o’clock as
the seventeen boats crossed the line

tra. Auk, Carambu and New Orleans.
Five minutes after the boats crossed
the New Orleans wa running through
the fleet very rapid y and seemed to
be getting well into the load.
The wind was blowing six miles an
hour as the yachts started out on the
first half of their journey.

The death of Charles Murzcllo Moul-
ler occurred yesterday at his home. Elli
Washington street. Mr. Mueller was
upholstercr by trade. and has resided
in Norwalk for nineteen years. Dur-
ing the last year he has been in bad
health and gradually railed until
leuih came. A widow and three sons
survive him. The funeral will be held
omorrow afternoon at 2:30 from the
house. Tile interment will be in River-
side Cemetery.
