who was drowned front the steamer
Madeleine. Sunday night, as the boat
neared linrtt‘ord, was found today
floating in the Connecticut River on-
posite Cromwell. Ofliocrs on the
steamer Hartford saw the body flotil-
ing in the river and by looting the
sieamor’s whistle attracted the atten-
tion of James Frauen, a fisherman, who
rowed out and got the body. it was
towed ashore and Iaken to this city
and later in the day it was sent to
Glastonbury. Wilcox presumably fell
overboard from the lower rail of the
bout. ills disappearance from the
boat was thought strange at the time
as only a few moments before he had
bid several friends on the steamer
good bye. This was the last seen of
him alive.
