The fire which was reported a few

George S. Adams. one of the old
residents. was stricken with heart fail-
ure. on Wednesday morning. and for
a short time. his life hung merely by
a thread. lir. Powers was called and
administered to hinl. Mr. Adams. who
is eighty-seven years of age, had been
about the village during the morning
and it is thought that he became ever-
done. He is quite a walker nlid never
comes to town unless on foot. The
morning was quite warm and he walk-
ed home lively. Upon his arrival he
sat down upon the porch and soon
was noticed to have fainted. Restora-
tivcs wore led and Dr. Powers
sent for. 0rd was at once sent to
his sons in New York city and after
dinner Dr. Charles and Dr. John ac7
companied by their wives, arrived. At
this writing Mr. Adams is improving.
