Wednesday. May 30 is the opening
day of the Norwnik Yacht Club it
is the desire of the regatta committee
to hold an open launch race for
owners ‘of poWer boats, large or small.
in this vicinity, at least once every
thIee weeks during the season. Last
season the club held two of the most
successful and satisfactory races ever
run in this locality. This year we hope
to continue the good work on a much
larger scale but in order to make the
scheme a success we must have the
heart? cooperation of every one inter-
ested in this sport. The plan is to
run 'tho races under the same arrange
ment as that carried out last year but
in order to form some basis for the
handicapping of those not participating:

ginning which may not seem entirely

arrives and to show them a finish
which will be exciting and close.
Please remember that it makes no dif-
ference whether your boat can go four
miles an hour or fourteen. after the
handicapping is once fixed. every boat
has the same chance. The slowest
bout starts first and the fastest laid.
and the object is simply to catch the
boat. ahead which theoretically you
should do at thI finish. Last year‘s
races proved this theory to be correct.
so if you have any lovtI for the sport
and wish to make the season a suc-
cess, give us your support and be at
the float on Decoration Day early.
We will do the best in our power to
give every one an equal chance in this
race and will assure you that all in-
