the article until about the time of his
arrest a month ago and that he knew
nothing about it at the time of its
publication Mr. Thomas was in charge
of the section of the paper devoted to
Dadbury news he said and prepared
his own copy ior the printer. All the
reporters of the Herald did likewise
with the copy from their respective
districts. he said. He regarded Mr
Thomas as an especially capable news-
paper and his custom in rc‘gsrd lb

length by Prosecuting Attorney Booth
in regard to his supervision of the.
