operation a machine that is probably
about as close to a solution oi’ the

in rise practically day and night since
then. This week the engine was stop-
ped for the purpose of putting on Hr
new fly-wheel, and doing some other
work.
Here is a machine that costs aborrl.
as much to operate as a coal-consum-
ing machine would cost if coal sold
for about 80 cents a ton. But it must
be remembered that coal in this sec-
tion hasn‘t. got down to that figure.
The new machine. which produces
so much power so cheaply. occupies
bllt a small space. It stands fourteen
feet high. is eighteen feet long. from
wheel to wheel, and is eight feet wide.
Ils grcat weight. seventy tons, is in-
dicative of its great strength.

cycle design. Oil is burned by corn-
prcssion, and no spark arrangement
is needed. The oil is burned at a high
temperature. ranging from 6th to 700
