the firemen in the many dangers in
which they unhesltatingly plunge to
slave life and property.
The beautiful anthem “Prepare Yc.
the Way of the Lord" was then given
by the choir, followed by reaching ol‘
the scripture. The anthem, "The Home
Light." followed.
The olfactory solo was sung by Mrs.
Franklin Irving Smith and was that
beautiful composition of Ethelllert
Nevin, entitled "A Little Willie." This
Was followed by the congregational
singing of 'fHark. the Glad Soiilid.‘

Rev. Mr. Duncan than preached his
special sermon to the firemen. The
subject was “How Jesus Saved Man."
He took his theme from the sermon on
lug men, and bore. strongly on the
fact that while It is all right to save
property and lifo. that there is some
thing Still more. important, and that is
to save the soul from the everlasting
flrc. lie pointed out to the firemen
that they have moral duties to per-
form as well as tllc physical dangers
to combat and overcome. The ser-
lnon throughout proved to be a very
.intcresiing and eloquent one. and the
firemen were much edilled thereby.
At the close of the sermon the choir
rendered the anthem "Light of the
World." after which the benediction
was pronounced.
