started for a funeral Saturday after-
noon at which he was to serve as a
bearer. Charles M. Austin, .01 45 Alt-
ron street. this city. stopped to throw
some cool on‘ the parlor stove. Scarce
Iy had the. coal struck the tire when
there was a’ violent explosion which
wrecked thefistova and knocked Mr.
Austin to the floor, He quickly re-
covered and ran to it nearby doctor‘s
office. where it was found that a red
hot cinder had buried itself in his
eye. while another had inflicted a out
several Inches long in his forehead.
