'A body writ for one million dollars
has been served upon C. Manson Ray-
mond. a former New York broker.
by Sheriff Sidney E. Howie}. of
Bridgeport in a suit brought to re-
cover securities and bonds to the
amount of over one million dollars
which it is said were entrusted to Mr.
Raymond’s care‘more than two‘years
ago. The name of the plaintiff is not
mode public here at this time.
It said that Mr. Raymond has
evaded service in the srllt for two
years. and was found during last night
at the home of his nephew Seymour
Curtis. 22 North avenue. Norwalk. .
In preference to going to jail in de
fault of a. million dollar bond, Mr.
Raymond agreed to be constantly un-
der guard of two deputy sheriffs.
The deputies assigned as a body ‘
guard» to' Mr. Raymond are John W.
Sculley, of this place. antl'Charles D.
Stags. of Stratford. and all their ex-
penses, it is understood, will be paid
by Mr. Raymond. They are continual-
ly to keep their charge in sight until
bonds are in rnished.
