has not lived up to his contract. The
Bells island bridge matter has been a
thorn in the side of the town officials
for many months. .
At a town meeting the sum of 87.500
was appropriated for the erection of
a stone arch bridge. The sslectmen
last year advertised for bids and the
contract was given to Mr. Hoyt for
37.500. , After he had been at work
for a time. the sovernmsnt ordered
the work of building the structure
stopped because permission had not
been secured from the War Depart.
