Ansel Arthur Fanchcr, formerly of
Danbury. died in New York city, at
308- West 23d street, Monday morning
of diabetes. He was fifty-one years of

one daughter, Miss Bertha Fancher,
who has made her home in Danbury
for the past few years. She is at pres-
ent in New Haven caring for her mo-
ther,‘ who is seriously 111. Mr. Fan-
cher lived in Danhury several years
previous to going to New York, where
he had been engaged in the real es-
late business. The funeral was held
yesterday afternoon at the home of
.his mother, Mrs Alvah Ruscoe in
Bald: Hill district»; Wilton where the
burial was made.”

GRAND ARMY APPOINTMENTS.

DENVER, 0010., August 24.~—An.
nounocment of three important ap-
pointments in connection with the
coming national encampment of the
Grand Army of the Republic has been
made at headquarters of the local ex-
ecutive committee. Orders were re-
ceived from Commander-in-Chlef John
R. King, of Baltimore, assigning Gen.
George W. Cook, chairman of the ex-
ecutive committee, to the position of
assistant adjutant general. in his-
new capacity as assistant Adjutant
General Cook has endorsed the ap-
pointment of 001. A. G. Randolph. of
Denver. as marshal of the parade, and
Gen. Sherman Bell. of Denver, former
general oil colors. as vice chairman of
the information committee.
