the lt‘srmers' Association this morn
ing. brought up the bill which repeats
that section of the statutes under
which D. Preston Atwood instituted
legal proceedings against various tie-
linquent Administrators, executors. etc.
He objected to its retroactive feature
and claimed that Mr. Atwood should
be permitted to proceed with his
stilts.
Senator Bush. of East Lyme, sup-
ported hls remarks and expressed his
surprise that such a bill should be re-
ported by the judiciary committee. lie
admired Mr. Atwood for his honesty In
coming before the legislature iind
stating that. he was in it. for money.
Representative Sottthwick. of Corti-
wall. held that, there would have been
no Alivood stilts of Judges of probate
had attended to their duties. He ad-
mired Mr. Atwood's pluck and thought
the state should back him up.
Representative Fosdlck. of Lyme,
contended that the bill was trained
