The charge against Damon is said
to be the drinking from a whiskey
bottle in the baggage car of his train
while the train was In operation.
Damon denies the story and says he
is the victim of the wrath of D. brake
man whose enmity he had incurred
through disclosing the latter's use of
a pass obtained under fraudulent pre-
tenses. Damon’s alleged offense In
said to have been the first for which
he was called “upon the carpet" dur-
ing his long term of service.
Some of his train crew are also said
to have been dismissed.
