State of Oregon Gives
Right of Way.
PORTLAND. Ore, April 7.—-The
state of Oregon has delivered to Maior
W. C. hangdtt. a deed conveying title
to the government of the entire right
of way for the Dallas-Collie Canal.
This action removes the last obstacle
to the construction of the canal and
insures the early beginning of work.
This great. undertaking is a canal
and looks around an obstruction in
the Columbia flirt-r about 100 miles
east of Portland. The canal will admit
of transportation by water of almost
the entire wheat crop of Eastern Ore
gen. Eastern Washington, and ldaho.
