The professor elected Bowen from a

ignation of Charles Hudson, of Anson-
ie, as receiver of the Omega Steel
Company of this city was present in
the Superior Court today and Was ac-
cepted. This action followed hearings
recently held. and was the immediate
result. of a conference between coun-
cil for the receiver and tho stockhold-
ers held‘lest evening. Judge Robinson
appointed Attorney William L. lion-
noii, oi‘ the firm of Pay & Bennett.
receiver for the insolvent corpora-
tion, fixing his bond at $2.500. The
court also directed Mr. Hudson to file
a complete and detailed statement and
final account With the clerk on or be
fore Feb, 17, and also to turn over
the formula of the “secret steel pro-
cess" to the new receiver. After this
is accomplished Receiver Bennett is to
pay to the former receiver $500 in full

Bridgeport. is to be aired on the floor
of the House. Mr. Hill has consideo
able data which he has collected rela-

ing the discossion of the bill. Several
members of the naval affairs commit-
tee have expressed themselves very
strongly on this subject, and many
feel that Captain Lake has not been
treated fairly by the department.

ly’ times are promised on the floor of.
the House.

low tho naval appropriation bill, and
it will undoubtedly pass the llouse
practically as reported by the com
mittee. The Senate will probably add
a large number of amendments, and
the question will then be whether the

bill that can pass both houses. The
bill is liable to fail by reason of dis.
agreement between the Senate and the
House, just as the. statehood bill is
very likely to go by the board. The
House committee on public buildings
and grounds has voted to authorize
the chairman of the committee to re-
port it public building bill, and be will
do so in a few days. The bili.wlth
its various items. has been agreed to,
but not blade public. it is understood
that New Britain is included in this
bill at 3125.000, and Meriden also
comes in for an addition of $50,000.

leader of the Somme, in the absence
of Sbuator Aldrich.

The labor unions urged congress to
