An entire gas plant for $350 is the
bargain which was obtained by Samuel
S. Benton, 8. ltidgoileld coal merchant.
For that sum he purchased the gas
tanks, machinery and pipes through-
out. the town of the Ridgeileld Illumi-
nating Company. which went into deep
linunciul‘diiilcultles about six months
ago.
The matter came up before Judge
8. A. Robinson is the Superior Court
yesterday. for a final accounting on
the part of the firms receiver. Harvey
i’i's‘s‘oll. Judge of Probsto tor Ridge-
tleld. ‘ ‘ .
He stated that since he assumed
office the firm had taken in $521.97.
which is more than it made for a
number of yours previous. The plant
supplies acety.eno gas to the town of
Ridge-fluid. He stated that he had

held stock. or did at one time. has
been a steady money loser since it
was started. At one time its pipes
laid through the. town were dug up
and used as fence rails by the inhabi-
tanta Inxause they leaked badly and
