T. J. Thomas Chairman of the Organ-
ization in Town Starting a
Vigorous Campaign.
T. L. Thomas, chairman of teh State
Central Committee of the Peoples‘
Party of Connecticut. has been in town
the past day or so in the interests of
the party. Mr. Thomas is visiting all
the principal cities of the state with
a view to creating renewed interest
in the party.
When approached by a Sentinel’re-
porter Mr. Thomas said that he was
very hopeful of a successful campaign.
In his trip through the states he had
found many people who were dissatis-
fied with the Democratic party and
some among the Republicans who were
ready to revolt. He said that he hau
found acgood many politieans who saw
no differences betWeen the main issues
that characterize the Republican and
the Democratic platforms. Mr. Thom-
as hoped to get out the largest vote
this fall that has evei been polled by
the Peoples' Party.

Samuel Mead, of Rowayton, Believes
His Life in Endangered by
Recklou Shooting.
Samuel Mead, the Rowaytou grocer,
thinks that he has an enemy who is
making attempts to take his life, Last
evening as Mr MeadI was sitting on
the porch of his stow. in company with
several other friends a small object
went whizzing through the air, struck
the telegraph wire above his head. re-
bounded and hit Mr. Mend it hard blow
on the head. The genial grocer thought
110 more of the matter at the time, ex-
cept for the good natured jokes from
his comrades, until this morning. when
he found a bullet on the porch near
where he had been sitting last even-
ing. The bullet is now on exhibition
