page of every local paper had a fine
story, descriptive of the plight of the
actress who had accidentally fastened

play, and the resourceful agent went

sation lovers there—William Loftus, in
Reader Magazine.

last. evening, and,“ was a thorough
success from every standeInt. The
attendance was large and the occasion
one of the most enjoyable. The en-
tertainment provided for those who at-
tended was a most excellent one, and
the program was appreciated from be
ginning to end.
Svece Band was present and ren-
derad a number, of fine selections
which were much appreciated.
Diogenes was hunting for an honest

he exclaimed triumphantly. "Impossi-
hie" he replied. “No," chuckled the

stamp.” Bound to have his sake, ’the
