FOOD AT INSANE ASYLUM.
Report That It lo '0! Poor Quality Do-

The published reports that attend-
ants of the Asylum for the insane in
Mlddietown are leaving their employ-
ment on account of the poor quality
or food served to them, is declared by
the omelnis oi' the institution to be
without foundation, says the‘ilarttord
Post. Dr. Fisher, the assistant sup-
erlntendont. says that no one who has
left the institution has given poor food
as a cause. for going.
The food supplies are inspected ev-
ery day and are of the best. Henry
Woodward, the dean of the trustees,
says that he has received no com-
plaints o! the food since Dr. Noble has
been superintendent of the institution.
There Is being spent $3,000 or $4,000 a
moutfl for beef alone. Some of the
beef is bought already dressed from
the western houses and cattle are
bought and slaughtered on the premis-
es. All the appurtenances for killing
cattle are to be had on the term, and
it was only because the supply of na-
tivo cattle was insufficient that the
slaughter was stopped for a time.

Manchester. Conn, at a hotel in this

er case, to be strangely similar. The
description of a man who left Bos-
worth's room o. short time before his
murder tallies closely with a man who
played cards with O’Connell on the
night of his death. A mysterious wo-
man is also said to be involved in the
case. The police. of Connecticut and
New York are working together on the
two cases.
