A report has been in circulation the
past few days to the effect that the
Consolidaed Road was about to oi.-
tain control of the Norwalk Tramway
line, which is now part of the system
of the Connecticut Railway and Light-
ing Company.
At the office of the Tramwity Com-
pany. the superintendent said that he
knew nothing about any contemplated
change in management, and he added
that he didn't believe t.here,.was any.
thing in the report. He did not make
a very strenuous denial of it. It has
been circulated with such persistence
recently. and has come from such has
ually well informed circles. that there
is a prevailing idea. that there may be
something in it.
It is well known that the Consulldat-
oil has been endeavoring to get con-
= trol of the Greenwich line, but has
been unable to carry negotiations to a
successful termination. If the New
Haven Company should get control of
