"We approve the general principle of
unifying the book concern by consoli-
dating its manufacturing departments
and placing them under one manage-
ment.
"We recommend that the bishops be
requested to appoint a ct\rmission of
one from each general conference dis-
trict and one or two at large so as to
provide. an uneven number in the com-
mission and notl rrcludlng therein
members of the bookt committee, but
at least half the persons so appointed
shall be laymen. to which shall be re-
ferred the report of the book commit-
tee with power
"That after having duly considered
the recommendations of said report the
commission, If it shall adopt a plan.
shall proceed to outline and determine
the same for consolidating the manu-
facturing departments of the book eon-
ccrn and for their future administra-

"Upon the completion of said gene-

lan Line steamer Hibernian. which
sailed from Montreal May.“ and Que-
bee May 15 for London with cattle and
a general cargo and seven passengers,
went ashore at midnight last night dur-
ing a dense fog. at Stormy Point. a
shout near Cod Roy, thirty miles north
of Cape Ray at the entrance of the
Gulf of St. Lawrence. The vessel is
listing and making water fast and it
is feared that she will become a total
