State John Hay, who was on a visit to
St. Louis and the Louisiana Purcliasc
Exposition, as the representative of
President Roosevelt, was today escort
ed to the administration building by
President Francis. With Secretary
Hay are Mrs, liay, Henry Adams and
Miss Adams.
Prince Pu Lun, of the imperial dy-
nasy of China, departed today over the
Wabash railroad for Chicago which
will be the first stopping place in the
- prince's tour of the eastern part of the
country. Before leaving the prince,
accompanied by Wong,Kai Kah, Im-
perial vice commissioner, called upon
President Francis at the exposition to
say farcwcll, As a token of esteem
President Francis presented the prince
with a gold watch, bearing the inscrip-
tion: “Louisiana Purchase, 1904.”
Prince l’n Lun. in acknowledging
‘the gift. replied through his interpro
tor: “This watch shall be a most. cher-
ished memcnto and its cvery boat will
remind me of the pleasant incidents
connected with my visit to St. Louis
and the Louisiana Purchase Exposi-
