Nomination of any Candidate for Office
STAMFORD. May 12.——Michacl Ken-
oaly, of this city, who was yesterday
elncted chairman of the Republican
State Central Committee gave out the
following statement at his office here
today:
“The office of the chairman of the
state central committee will not be
used by me in any way to influence the
nomination of any candidate for any
office. This applies to all candidates
and to every nmce. The ofllce will be
used wholly for the pulimse for which
it was intended and all candidates
and their friends may rely on my ad-
hering to this attitude. This is merely
a repetition of what 1 had the pleasure
of saying at the meeting of the State
Central Committee in New Haven yes-
terday afternoon."
Mr. Kcnealy was asked about details
of the ballot for chairman in the com-
mittee. and replied that he had reason
to believe that most of the whit-lied
