warranto proceedings held yesterday
by appointment before Judge Tbaycr.

election Henley was returned as the
successful candidate. Protest was
made by Bowe on the ground that
Third Ward returns showed 710 votes
for Healey. He claimed this to be Im-
possible. iucourt the ballot box was
opened and the ballots counted and
Henley had only 627 votes. The city ..
total for Bowe was 3.950 against 3.939 i
for Henley. and the former ‘was placed
in office by a margin of eleven votes.
The office pays mo salary and the
election is for two years.

Those who spoke in favor of the erec-
tion of a new dormitory by the state at
Noroton were Mr: Simmons. of Win-
sicd: Chaplain Lowell, of Middletown.

The dormitory question occupied thc
