Newport Man Arrested in New York
for Fraud.
NEW YORK, Feb. 13.—Edward L.
Ducette. a Newport, R. i. broker, who
was arrested here last night on a war
rant iI om Newport, charging him with
perjury was arraigned here today and
held for extradition. The warrant
against the broker is said to have been
issued as the result of an investigation
instituted by the attmney general of
Rhode island into a court case with

ing company in a suit brought by Allen
K. Leek or New Haven in which 01, 000
damages are sought Mr. Leek took a
car in Derby on January 9, 1904 for
New Haven.

lonely spot in the night time. and
obliged to wait thirty minutes for an-
other csr. He had paid. his fare. it
was an intensely cold night.
The case is a novel one. as it raises
the question of the company's liability
for ejecting pcrsons from a car and
compelling them to wait for another
