The undeysigncd. a committee appointed by the Merchants‘
and Manufacturere' Association of this city have carefully cit-min»
ed the buildings. machinery. fixtures and merchandise in the plant
of the Volk Hat Company. and believe that the estimate of values
as per schedule “A" herewith attached. la a very coneervativc one.
We further find that advanced pa ymenta on spring orders now held
by the firm amounts to 32.500. and that there are orders on the
books of the Company exceeding one thousand dozen. The plant
ecema to be in good condition. with facilities for turning out a very
large product.
Mr. Swartz. President of the Company. informed us that all
the obligationa of the old Company. excepting the 310.000 real
estate mortgage. have been cared for; that the reorganized Com-
party would date their business from December 131.. :903. free from
debt except an above. and that the present equity would be repre-
sented by' the common stockholders. and that the cash received
from the sale of the preferred capital stock would be used at work-
ing capital.
