satisfied with its name. That method
of naming golf clubs has gone out
of fashion. Thev are all . “country
clubs" now, so the New Canaan Golf
club wants to become the New Canaan
Country club.
As the old club is a corporate or
ganizatlon It has had to apply to the
superior court in order to make the
desired shift. Application to make
the change was yesterday tiled by
Judge John H. Light, counsel for the
club, and It will be heard at the short
calendar session on Thursday.

any opposition, as New Canaan is all
too anxious to be in style. -

ment was made today that the distribu
tion of the Christmas installment of
the Remington Typewriter Company
was being made. All employcs in the
mechanical_ shipping trucking and
other manual labor departments, who
have been in the employ of the com-
pany for over ten years are entitled to
share in this bonus which consists of
350 at vacation tirnt and $50 at Christ-
mas. The recipients number 304 this
year and next year about 100 more will
