The annual meeting of the South
Norwallt Fire Department was held last
night at the headquarters of Old Well
Hook and Ladder Company. There
was an attendance of about fifty
members of the three companies. Old
Well. Putnam Hose and the South Nor~
walk Fire Police. Chief Engineer I).
W. Harford, presided. and announced
that he was about to retire from office.

east of this city has proved to be the.
most destructive in the history of this
