to the city to do the work over again.
Councilman Iiosch said that he believ-
ed that Mr. Knlppel was entitled to
relief. It was voted to repair the dam
age.
The communication follows:
Gentlemen: About ten years ago.
and beforerl laid my sidewalk in front
of my house, No. 22 Elmwood avenue.
1 want to the street commissioner.
then in office. for lines, etc, on which

He told me to lay a claim! walk and

that side of the street. The line of
this new walk does not coincide with
the line of my walk within five feet and
I am told my walk is wrong.
This year I laid out considerable
money on my walk and today it Is as
good as the new walk just laid; there-
font-.1 do not think- ! should be. called
upon to move it back to where it be
longs, inasmuch as l laid it upon lines
furnished me by a city official. and sac-
rificed a large elm tree in '0 doing.
