DEAD WITH GAS TURNED ON.
New Haven Man Believed to Have
Committed Suicide.
NEW HAVEN. Oct. 30. —-John Corm-
ley. employed at the L Candee Rub-
ber factory was found dead today in
his room at 474 Chapel street with
the gas turned on. He is thought to
have committed suicide. The smell
of gas is the hall led the other inmates
of the house to summon a policeman,
who forced the door and found Gonnley
dead. The Medical Examiner said he
had been dead several hours.
Gormley was forty-five years old and
unmarried. He formerly lived at 66
Greene street but removed yesterday
to the Chapel street house His moth-
er. who lives in Colcheater. survives
