on the Marienfelde-Zossene experimen~
tal line reached a speed of l25 4-5 miles
per hour today, or a kilometer more
than the highest previous record. The
current was between 13.000 and 14,000
volts, capable of driving the car at the
rate of over 200 miles, This power is
reduced by transformers to about 450
volts, The car used today had four
horse power. it was the car used In
the previous tests this year and is con-
structed on the Sicmens-Haiske sys-
tem, Another car of somewhat differ-
ent equipment as to motors and trans-
formers has been built for additional
high speed tests, The lives of all on
board .tte experimental car were heav-

sation of new companies in towns ac-
cessible to New Haven, Where the most
Interest and best prospects for new
companies should appear, and to reor-
ganize the Fourth and Third licki-
ments into a new regiment. to be des-
Ignated the Third Regiment, to make
regimental designations comply with
the actual number of organized rogl-
merits, making one battalion in New
London county and two battalions in
Fairfield county. While the eastern
battalion Is separated by a consider-
able distance from the regimental
headquarters, there will be a battalion
headquarters for It In New London, and
whenever the regiments is brought to-
gether for encampment or other duty
