John Olleren'shaw. while returning
from work last evening was riding his
wheel along Seavlew avenue, when sur-
denly he crashed into a boy who was
riding in the opposite direction. Mr.
Ollerenshaw was thrown from his
wheel, The boy who latter was found
to be Frank Ferguson, was unhurt.
Mr. Ollerenshaw. however, did not es-
cape so luckily. tseveral doctors were
called and his injuries have not as yet

A special meeting of Eagle ilook
and Ladder Company was held last
evening, at the truck house. for the
purpose of arranging for the annual
fair of the Hook and Ladder Company.
Miss Elizabeth Warren, who is in the
Stamford Hospital, is about the same.
It is probable that she will be trans-
ferred to the Norwalk lioepltal at an
early date If the arrangements can be
made.
There was some delay in traffic on
the Myrtle avenue, Stamford, street car
line Sunday morning, owing to a car
getting off the track on Noroton Hill.
In the afternoon and evening most of
the cars were behind time. owing to
the storm.
A meeting of the selectmcn was held
Saturday. for the purpose of making
voters. The list is quite a large one
this year compared with recent years,
and shows beyond a doubt that the
town is growing rapidly.
This evening is the eventful night in
all the year for Republican electors of
llarieu. It’s sure‘ to be a hot night.
no matter what other conditions the
weather prophet may have arranged
for the occasion. It Is the occasion of
the caucus of the Republican party for
the nomination of town officers, and
there Is a great deal going on in the
Republican ranks just now. Former
ti. Waterbury and Selectman James H.
Raymond are in the lists for the office
of first selectman. All three are strong
candidates. All three are men who
have the entire continence of the vote
ers of Darlen. and all three are making
a very warm canvass tor the nomina~
tion.
James H. Raymond was placed in the
allies of first selccttnan to fill the un«
expired term cauSed by the death of
his father, Charles W. Raymond. He
has served in the office for four months
with benefit to the town and credit to
himself. He desires to serve longer.
and there are a gloat many who would
like to see- him scrve a complete term.
They feel that be is entitled to a longer
term of office than the mere four
months which he has served. They
think that he should have a chance to
show what sort of timber he is made
of, and the feeling seems to be grow-
ing steadily.
Senator Lounsbury Is a man of lntogf“
rlty, who has served the town in al-
most every capacity in his long politi-
cal career. He has excellent chances
of getting the nomination. and without
question would make an excellent sel-
ectman. _
Charles G. Waterbury‘is a man who
also enioys‘the esteem and friendship
of his fellows, and has a large follow-
ing. Heleels that be Is entitled to the
oiiioe,and 'would certainly make a cap-
able and efficient first selectman.
All now. however hinges on the
com! on, which will be made this
evening. It is a three cornered fight,
and a three cornered political fight has
ever been considered pregnant with
possible surprises.
The stronglist rivalry exists between
Senator Lounshury and Selectman
Waterbury, and both appear to be de-
termined that the other shall not have
it, What this fight will result in,‘ls of
course hard to tell. It Is believed, how—
ever, that rather than have the other
get it, either will gladly swing his
strength at the eleventh hour to swell
the votes for James H. Raymond. Add-
ed to this is a feeling that the young
