THIRTY-SIX DISTRICT PLAN.
HARTFORD. May 28.-——The Senator
ial redistricting resolution came up as
special order of the day in thi:1 Senate
at noon today. The committee's plan
divides the state into 35 districts, giv~
lng one to Tollnnd County. Senator
Bradstreet's amendment offered last
week calls for 36 districts. giving Tol-
land county two senators. and makes
minor changes in Litchlleld and New
London counties. The committee plan
was drawn up by Representative Sco-
ville. of Salisbury. while Senator
Ilradstreet‘s plan is known as that of
the Republican State Central Commit-
ice.
The Senate adopted the amendment
dividing the state Into thirty-six in-
stead of thirty—five districts after an
hour's debate. An amendment by
Senator \Voodruff substituting the
‘Chatfleld" plan for the adopted "is-
llell" plan was rejected. The 36 dis—
trict plan was then adopted.
